When people visualize Hawaii, most people see relaxed islands in addition to gentle seas. While this is correct, it’s not all that gorgeous Hawaii has to offer. For individuals of a far more lively persuasion, you have the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, or HAVO. The park is substantial, made up of a couple of fairly lively volcanoes and also ranging from the mild beaches to the cool apex of Mauna Loa.

Just about the most recently formed volcano in the world is situated in the park. It’s name is Kilauea Caldera, and it offers amazing vistas made of solidified lava and craters. You’ll find it erupts routinely, and so should you want to backpack those 140 miles of hiking trails or perhaps camp inside the park, it’s probable that you’ll be able to witness the moving lava. It isn’t really by any means as thrilling as the motion pictures show though. The particular lava in this case streams at a continuous crawl, not quite the stuff of show biz dramatics. There are numerous other pursuits to look into while in the park’s 333 thousand acres, hence be sure to consider a long getaway if you ever expect to see it all. For anyone who is in a big hurry, then the hour or two that it requires to ride by all the park’s points of interest will definitely cause you to want to revisit.

To get a far better look at the flowing lava, you may use the hotline the park offers for this function. They answer questions such as how the volcanoes are doing as well as the ideal observing spots. You might need a map whether you are driving or walking through the park. The geography is randomly sculpted and re-sculpted by the continuous lava flow so it is better to acquire the latest map from your park visitor’s center.

The climate in the park is unpredictable. It is not like the most Hawaii’s weather in any way. It can be incredibly hot as a result of both the sun and the lava. The environment here may also be at least 15 degrees cooler than Kona, so prepare yourself. You will be hotly sweating one second and then trying to avoid chilly rainfall the next. Try to select your clothing very carefully.

A lot of people get parched when visiting volcanoes, therefore make sure to bring in sunscreen and lots of liquid. Be dressed in mountaineering boots to protect your feet and also properly check everything you need in advance. Being reckless brings about mishaps, therefore mind the park warning signs and prevent getting lost. People straying off the particular hiking tracks and roaming too near new lava paths tend to be two of the most frequent reasons for critical accidents in HAVO. The park’s indicators are available to help keep you from losing yourself or burned by falling lava flows.

If you are on the beach and smell decaying eggs, move at a distance. This is the smell of sulfur, a byproduct of lava coming in contact with the ocean. The toxic sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid are emitted as soon as that takes place. All these gases can be harmful for women who are pregnant and young children, especially. They may additionally lead to further problems for people with asthma as well as other respiratory complications.

Whether you explore for the awesome hiking trails, the scenic camping outdoors or perhaps as some kind of exercise, the Hawaii Volcanic National Park will surely have what you’re really searching for.

Preparing for a summer vacation? Before you go to the beach, consider your swimwear first. Go to Swimwear Place for a big selection of swimwear ranging from one and two piece swimsuits, swim skirts, swimdresses, tankinis, monokinis and a lot more.

Twenty miles of stellar coastline, righteous surfing conditions, and some of the finest scenery and frivolities that Hawaii has to offer make Oahu’s North Shore the place to go for a delicious taste of paradise by the sea.

October through February offers up waves of extreme heights. In fact, they’re big enough to attract surfers from all over the world for a number of professional competitions. Sunset Beach calls out to adventure-seekers with the world’s longest stretch of surf-worthy breakers, and Ehukai Beach is home to the Bonzai Pipeline, one of the most challenging and exciting locations for boarders.

Aspiring athletes can visit these awesome sites, though they are advised to practice caution, and spectators are welcomed to witness the best of the best as they compete for titles and bragging rights. Waimea Beach hosts the Quicksilver Eddie Aikau Invitational every year, and Haleiwa Town has the Triple Crown of Surfing. Both would be great opportunities to be wowed by the thrilling skills of wave-skimming daredevils.

For a more laid-back experience, visit the North Shore during the summer months. The very same waters are now calm enough for a family snorkeling trip, or head to Kawela Bay for a prime shell hunting experience. Golfers can feel privileged to play on courses designed by Arnold Palmer himself, and culture-buffs will be pleased at all the South Pacific traditions they will encounter around every corner. All in all, this portion of Oahu is like a microcosm of Hawaii, so visitors will have no reason to miss out on any of their island expectations.

To squeeze every drop of fun and leisure from this trip, consider renting a vacation home suited to your needs. Entranced by the thought of surfing your days away? Pick a beachside condo surrounded by tiki torches. Prefer to be closer to the inland sites? Rent a hillside hideaway that is a bit quieter, still offers an ocean view, is close to a grocery store, and has its very own swimming pool.

If you’re used to a cozy, urban apartment, take the opportunity to experience something new on this vacation. Go for a place with a king-size bed. Leave the windows open all night without ever hearing a whisper of traffic. Stay up talking and playing music until dawn without bothering the neighbors. If you’ve forgotten what it’s like to have a yard, take a walk through the banana patch out back and soak it all in. Embrace the joys of fresh air and wide open space without the responsibility of ownership or maintenance, and return to your city dwelling refreshed and reconnected to nature.

If you already have a feel for a big kitchen and plenty of breathing room, you’ll be happy to enjoy your time in the North Shore without giving up the comforts you’re used to. Families shouldn’t suffer the indignity of squeezing together into one room or sharing a single bathroom just because they’re traveling. By reserving a four-bedroom chalet with an entertainment area filled with games, there will be no adjustments necessary. In fact, don’t be surprised if returning home is a bit of a drag after you’ve all grown accustomed to the bright colors, ample freedom, and relaxed atmosphere of your vacation home.

Oahu’s North Shore holds a bit of fun for everyone, and the vacation rentals in this area are equally diverse and accommodating. Be sure to envision all that you hope to gain from this vacation as you start to make your plans, and don’t get stuck with anything less than you deserve. To start the ball rolling, go online to peruse all the exciting activities and North Shore Vacation Rentals.

Created millions of years ago by volcanic eruptions, the Hawaiian island of Maui is the perfect exotic paradise for vacationers to explore the unknown, relax in paradise and enjoy complete rejuvenation. Located just west of Haleakala, the dormant volcanic mountain known by locals as the “house of the sun,” the city of Kihei provides vacationers a destination with every attraction imaginable.

Boasting temperatures between 60 and 80 degrees year round, the wide tropical beaches of Kihei contain beach crawlers of every kind. Guests have the options of trying a new beach and exciting activity everyday. Kama’ole I, II and III are perfect soft sandy beaches for the family outing, providing some of the best lifeguarded beaches, public restrooms, volleyball courts, picnic tables and green grassy lawn. Enjoy snorkeling, diving, windsurfing or horseback riding at Onelau, Wailea or Mokapu Beach. With a range of popular resort beaches to the undeveloped, you are sure to find the perfect setting for your vacation.

Besides being known for its popular tropical beaches, Kihei makes an exciting getaway as it provides many adventures on the off-beaten path. Take an adventurous bike ride, offered by Sunrise Bike Tour, to the summit of Haleakala to receive amazing views of the sun rising over the lush vegetation that leads out to Ma’alaea Bay and hold on tight to those handlebars as you enjoy the effortless and thrilling 38 mile ride downhill. Or, take a hike through the rainforests and discover an amazing variety of plant and animal life. This journey is sure to leave you with memories to last.

Craving even more adventure, try a Blue Water Rafting tour where you will discover tropical fish, marine life, lava formed sea caves and lava arches all while rafting down the beautiful Kanaio Coast. Another option, for the even more up-close exploration of the sea, is to skip the raft and snorkel your way down the coast!

If you’re interested in learning about the marine life of the Hawaiian Islands, make sure to visit the Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary. Migrating to the warm waters off the Maui coast each winter, learn about the humpback whales and see what research is being done to protect and help the whales, marine plants and animals. And if you are visiting during whale season, December through April, make sure to take a boat tour for an up-close whale watching adventure.

Home to some of the best world known golfing, enjoy one of Kihei’s public golf courses or take a short drive to Wailea and enjoy golfing at the world class resort. Enjoy incredible scenic views of Maui from the 18 hole golf course where these views might leave you slightly distracted from your game. These golf courses are sure to test all elements of your game, allowing you to return home a slightly better golfer.

There are numerous shopping opportunities that will allow you to return home with treasured keepsakes and souvenirs for friends and family. Located in the center of Kihei, Azeka Place is the largest shopping center offering over 50 shops and restaurants. And if you can’t find exactly what you are looking for, try the stores of Piilani Village Shopping Center.

When evening approaches, enjoy trying a variety of restaurants and bars with many having open-air patio seating and excellent views. Enjoy a tasty dinner of fresh seafood or try the local Hawaiian cuisine, prepared by renowned chefs. There are endless evening entertainment options to choose from; check out the local Hawaiian music, visit a popular dance club or enjoy the live theatre. Wherever the night takes you, everyone is bound to have an enjoyable time.

With so many adventures and relaxation calling to you, finding the perfect accommodations are a must. When visiting Kihei you will want to make sure you provide yourself enough time to fully explore and enjoy all that Maui has to offer. A Budget Kihei Vacation Rental is the perfect choice providing a relaxing environment close to numerous attractions, while providing you complete privacy and plenty of space. With all the amenities of home at your fingertips, you can have a memorable vacation both inside and outside of your vacation rental accommodations.

Timeshare takes off as Hotel occupancy drops
A recent Reuters news article reports that hotel occupancy in the USA is down in some top holiday spots – not for lack of visitors, but because more people are choosing to invest in permanent holiday accommodation like property and timeshares in their favourite destinations.
According to Peter Yesawich, chief executive of travel advertising agency Yatters, it’s easy to see why: ‘The pattern goes like this: visit destination, fall in love, buy the real estate.’
The shift is so significant that the big hotel chains are jumping on the timeshare trend, expanding their vacation ownership accommodation to capitalise on the boom. ‘These hotel guests are natural timeshare buyers,’ commented Scott Berman, head of PriceWaterhouseCoopers’ hospitality and leisure consulting practice.
Sales of timeshare property alone rose to $10 billion in 2006, up 16 per cent from 2005, according to ARDA (the timeshare trade group American Resort Developers Association). Today, over 4.4 million people own timeshare in the States.
A similar trend is emerging in Europe. Sales of holiday homes and timeshare approach record levels this year, as timeshare products are gaining popularity on this side of the pond. Value for money, generous accommodation space, self-catering facilities and a host of on-site leisure amenities are among the reasons why more families are opting for timeshare.
As thousands of people return from holiday having found their dream place in the sun, the number of Britons buying second homes and timeshare property abroad is set to soar this autumn, fuelled by an unusually wet British summer this year. New research just out from Moneycorp, the UK’s leading foreign exchange specialist, reveals that the number of people buying abroad rises by as much as 26 per cent in the autumn months.
European resort developers Club La Costa Resorts & Hotels recently reported a record summer season for their timeshare division, with occupancy rates at their Spanish resorts outperforming average hotel occupancy on the Costa del Sol. And their new Club La Costa Yacht Club, about to complete its first season in Mallorca, has been an unprecedented success.
Club La Costa Chairman Roy Peires commented, ‘The Yacht Club has been exceptionally popular with our members, I’m absolutely delighted. We’ve just announced our new winter sailing season in the Red Sea and will be back in Palma again next year. With ‘lifestyle’ holidays becoming more and more popular, our philosophy remains clear and simple: Club La Costa is dedicated to providing wonderful holiday experiences for our members.’
While Europe’s top three timeshare destinations continue to be mainland Spain, the Canary Islands and France, Turkey and Morocco are two new rising stars on the tourist map. Americans on the other hand (when they’re not holidaying in Hawaii, Florida or California) love Britain. A quarter of all Americans come to our shores for a change of scenery; those put off by the British weather head for Italy.

As more and more baby boomers retire, and seek to spend their golden years in the warm, but often distant, company of children and grandchildren that live many miles away, boomers and GenXers are taking their family reunions on the road as a way to unite the family while enjoying a relaxing vacation at the same time. But, anyone who’s traveled with multiple generations of family members knows that the ideal dream getaway meant to bring the family closer together can quickly turn into a nightmare replete with whining, bored and cranky kin if everyone’s interests, privacy, appetites, budgets and timetables are not taken into consideration.

Knowing that a multi-gen vacation can turn quickly from a blessing to a curse, family vacation options by Shell Family Resorts offers properties, amenities, packages and programs perfectly suited for vacations that include the kids, grandparents, and extended family, too!

Resorts are always an option appealing to all age groups; which is critical when choosing the right resort property for a multi-gen vacation. It could be a winter break at one of Shell’s Hawaiian properties such as the Kauai Coast Resort at the Beachboy or the Kona Coast Resort with all the summer-sun activities kids and parents could want including snorkeling, parasailing, sailing and surfing off white sand beaches or a fall break to the Legacy Golf Resort in Phoenix , which offers an 18-hole championship golf course, spa, and daily activities for all ages including bilingual story time, bingo and arts ‘n crafts such as face painting.

Another option for families is Condo Rentals and Expansive Suite Accommodations. Offering the greatest value, and giving vacationing families the maximum amount of flexibility and privacy, condo and suite accommodations are almost de rigueur at Shell’s resorts. Varying by region and with floor plans ranging from 175 to 2,600 square-feet of space, stylish suites, cozy casitas, beachfront lanais and upscale condos with lofts allow ample room for children to play and make noise in the living areas, while grandparents nap in the bedrooms. Additionally, most of these accommodations are also equipped with kitchens or kitchenettes including amenities such as refrigerators, microwaves, ovens, coffee makers, dishes and cutlery, thus allowing families to save money by dining in rather than going out to costly restaurants for every meal. Shell Vacations Hospitality even has a web site for recipe ideas!

Tips for Keeping the Peace on a Multi-Gen Vacation
Here are some survival tips on how to get away together and manage to return home stronger than ever.

1. Breathing room. Allow for some unscheduled, free time in each day’s itinerary. Don’t require everyone to be together 24/7.

2. Smart Spending. Don’t try to cram everyone into one or two bedrooms to save a few bucks. Spend the extra money on suitable accommodations, with amenities such as kitchens and kitchenettes, so that everyone can be comfortable and instead budget wisely on things like food, activities and souvenirs.

3. The family that plays together stays together. Since the point of taking a family vacation is to be together, make it a point to have at least one meal or activity per day together.

4. All for one and one for all. Pick a destination and resort that everyone can rally around and has amenities and nearby attractions for all age groups to enjoy.

5. Who’s the boss? Involve the children in planning the days’ itineraries. Perhaps give each child one day where they get to pick the recreational activity and lunch option for the family. As an additional trip-planning resource, many of Shell’s properties’ websites offer sample itineraries and day trip ideas that are crowd-pleasers for the entire family.

6. Play “outside the box”. Make it a point to try something new that you normally wouldn’t do, especially if it means doing it with one of your loved ones. If grandpa loves to golf, offer to tee off with him. If the kids are into face painting, allow them to paint yours.

7. Two words: date night. Arrange for at least one “date night” to re-group away from the kids during your family vacation. Hire a sitter through your resort or, better yet, leave them with grandma and grandpa—one of the many perks of a multi-gen vacation!

8. Play hooky. To get more bang for your buck on a multi-gen vacation, consider booking trips over weekdays, when rates are lower, instead of weekends. Even simply checking in on a Sunday and checking out on a Wednesday check-out could save you hundreds of dollars in lower rates. Also, take advantage of multi-night incentives offered during the week.

9. Point of view. To make sure the trip is documented through everyone’s perspective, arm everyone, kids included, with their own disposable cameras. When you get home, your scrapbook will be sure to include the trip’s most candid, and often, most fun moments.

10. Keep it in perspective. When things get stressful and you begin to feel like you’ve had a little too much together-time, remember to appreciate that you are all healthy and financially able to vacation together.

Hawaii’s Big Island is filled with supremely satisfying sights, but none is quite equal to Kailua Kona. Nestled at the bottom of Hualalai volcano and tucked along the picturesque shoreline of Kailua Bay, this stretch of vacationing heaven is just what you need to replenish your energy and recharge your soul.

Not to be confused with Kailua of Oahu, Kailua Kona is an attractive locale sometimes referred to only as Kona. If you can keep all of that straight (it’s really not too hard), you’ll be free to discover everything offered here, and we promise it’ll be worth it.

Start out by exploring the main street, Ali’i Drive, where you’ll get a taste for the history of this region as a playground for kings and later on, a site for sea fishing and missionary work. Modern conveniences now add to the flavor, so be assured that you’ll see plenty of grocery stores, shopping opportunities, and restaurants. The Ali’i Gardens Marketplace is the location for all the Hawaiian arts and crafts, Kona coffee, and fresh produce that you’ll want to sample while you’re here, so make some time to soak it all in.

Kailua Pier is a must-see in order to gain a true perspective of your surroundings. Watch the sunset from your perch on the seawall, or charter a boat for some angling in what are supposedly some of the best game-fishing waters around. In fact, every summer this is the site of the International Billfish Competition, so grab a rod and reel if this is your kind of thing.

From the pier, you might have caught a glimpse of an interesting landmark; further investigation will reveal to you that this is King Kamehameha Kona Beach Hotel, a place that is available for a closer look. Head over there to see the well-restored religious site that now exists on the grounds of the hotel and is open to the public on a daily basis. Historical walking tours will reveal to you the secrets of this worshipping site and explain the significance of the tall statues. Luaus are also held nearby, so make this the spot to uncover Hawaii’s authentic past.

If you’d like a calm beach to enjoy some leisurely activities upon, look no further than Kamakahonu Beach right next door. Go for a swim, rent some snorkel gear, or guide a canoe down the sandy slope and into the waves for an adventurous tour of the shoreline. Shallow waters and soft sand make for great conditions for all sorts of activities, but don’t be surprised if you end up sitting back for a long-overdue snooze in the sun. Bring the sunscreen and a towel, and the rest will take care of itself.

If your rest amps you up for a bit more historical sightseeing, then you’ll want to check out Hulihe’s Palace just down the road. Built in 1838 by Governor John Kuakini, this long-ago vacation home now operates as a museum. The interior has been restored to its original state, and several artifacts are under display. Free monthly concerts are also held here, so it’s really quite the place to continue to educate yourself about Hawaii while having fun as well.

To round out what is looking to be a distinctive vacation, be sure to plant yourself in the kind of lodgings that will increase your pleasure factor rather than bring it down. You might not realize it, but this cozy area of the Big Island is packed with vacation rentals that range from luxury condos to romantic, beach side villas. Choosing a rental property over a hotel usually means that you’ll have access to a greater supply of amenities and probably a bit more privacy, so it’s worth looking into.

Whatever you decide to do, you’ll surely be enjoying yourself in Kailua Kona. Improve your knowledge of Hawaiian history, stroll the beach with some delicious shaved ice in hand, or reconnect with that special someone as you recline on your lanai while the sun goes down. This is the kind of escape you’ve probably been dreaming about, so get the planning process started today.

Go online to check out all the Kailua Kona Vacation Rental options, and prepare to say goodbye to the mainland for a few precious, rejuvenating days.

Listed below are top ten popular vacation destinations around the world. The destinations are chosen on the basis of self visits or personal interest discovered through reading.

Allepey in Kerela
Amongst the most visited cruises, Alleppey is famous for boat races, fishing and beautiful lakes. It runs through the middle of Punnamada Lake and moves on to Chavara Bhavan for one to explore the hidden beauty of ancient wooden houses and the 400 year old Champakulam church. If lazing around on the beaches, relaxing in houseboats, sailing in continual stretches of silent waterways, and at the same time exploring long lost temples is your idea of holidaying, then Kerela is the destination for your next holiday.

Aruba in Caribbeans
Aruba is a great vacation spots in the Caribbean for cruise passengers. Right from beautiful beaches for a perfect tan of your skin, there are a variety of sports that one can participate in.
Often connoted as the Happy island of Caribbean, there are many places that one can visit in Aruba. One of them being Oranjestad, which is the capital city, is tremendously scenic with its Dutch royal architecture showcased in muted colors.
Being an island, it is well known for its water sport. This is a top spot for windsurfing or snorkeling. In fact, Aruba is the host to the Hi-Winds Amateur World Challenge windsurfing tournament that takes place every year in the month of June.

The Alps of Italy

Just about one and a half mile from the Old Haleiwa Town on Kamehameha Highway in the island of Oahu is a feeding ground for the green sea turtles, the Laniakea beach. Once you arrive there, there are branches and shrubs covering a good portion of the beach. It almost seems as if someone had gone through a great deal in order to hide this beach from the public, especially when you see the signs and banners being behind the shrubs and branches where the drivers passing by on the two way lane won’t be able to see much of the turtle signs. Maybe this was someone’s idea of keeping the crowd away from the beach.

Nevertheless, this beach is very crowded on many days throughout the year with people crowding around the turtles with wonders, and the children, having found new pets, wanting to play with the slow moving creatures. As such, it would be rare to find everyone abiding by the law on any day, which was created to stop the green sea turtles from becoming extinct. Moreover, these turtles are very friendly creatures that feed on the seaweed on the beach rocks and they are also willing to swim with anyone in the water with them without being afraid. As such, many people swim and snorkel in the beach with the turtles on a daily basis.

Our recommendation for anyone planning on heading out there: The green sea turtles are known to snap/nip so it is a good idea to give them some reasonable space. At the same time, please do not feed the turtles.
The green sea turtles were listed as endangered/threatened species on July 28, 1978 under the federal Endangered Species Act. It is also protected under Hawaii state law.

KRABI – The Emerald of the East

They say that Hawaii is the Emerald of West and Krabi of the east. Welcome to travelonguide.com , where we are going to explore the scenic and untouched beaches of Krabi. If you are a honeymoon trip to the Far – East, then make sure that you to add Krabi in your itinerary, and we suggest that Krabi should be in the top 3 slots.

Krabi is a small town in Thailand which is based on the banks of river Krabi, very close to the river mouth which opens in the Andaman Sea. When you are at Krabi you have a great choice of activities like Snorkeling, Scuba Diving, Kayaking etc. And if you are one of those who love adventure then the lush green jungles, provide the perfect ambience. Vast areas of Krabi are a part of the natural reserve, and Elephant Trekking could be the best option to explore it. Did you know that to explore the islands around Krabi one would require more than a year.

The Phi Phi islands, Koh Lanta, Klong Muang Beach & Railey beach are amongst the most popular tourist destinations in Krabi. Ao Nang is the most developed beach in Krabi where you could find many beach resorts and hotels. One could stay on this beach and easily explore the nearby islands.

Krabi has 2 predominant seasons, one called the summer and the other Rainy. From January to April it’s the summer season and from May till December it’s the Rainy Season. The months of May until July are pretty comfortable and raining most in the evenings. Day time it could be cloudy, but overall the weather is pleasant. April could be the best season as you might witness lots of sun along with some rains, which could be a mixture of hot and cold. Ideally the temperature is Krabi ranges from 16.9 degrees to 7.3 degrees.

Getting to Krabi is not so difficult. If you are on a backpacker journey then you could take a train from Hualamphong Railway Station in Bangkok until Sakhon Si Thammarat and then take a bus or taxi until Krabi, which is a very scenic route. If you plan to travel by road then from Bangkok it’s approximately 900 kms and from Phuket it is approx 4 hours drive. Take the hourly Bus service from Phuket, which is so convenient and comfortable. You could also rent a car, but make sure that the car you hire is insured. If you are in Phuket, then you could also take a Boat ride until Phi Phi Islands then take a taxi until Krabi.

Shopping is also an activity in Krabi, and will indeed be a pleasurable experience for anyone. The markets of Krabi offer beautiful handicrafts, sarongs & silk scarves at very reasonable rates. Make sure that you bargain on every purchase, since most of the times the prices are doubled. Since Thailand is famous for clothing, you will get some very cheap but really fashionable clothing in every city of Thailand. Gem stones and antiques are also found in abundance. Don’t forget to purchase some orchids, for which Thailand is so famous. They are nicely packed with a small water container to make sure that the Orchids reach your home safely, whatever you shop in Thailand and where ever you shop, make sure you bargain.

So don’t think, just pack your bags and head to Krabi. We hope you found this small article about Krabi as interesting as Krabi itself is and don’t forget to log onto our site www.travelonguide.com to know more about some of the best exotic locations of the world.
