Good Cairns Resorts For Queensland Holidays

While the Great Barrier Reef is the premier attraction that brings visitors to Cairns resorts, there is a whole lot more to it than that. This little corner of Queensland is paradise for tourists and vacationers. What makes it especially appealing is the stay in a resort overflowing with luxury, in a setting that’s straight of a postcard, with the rainforest as a backdrop and a golden beach the only thing between the resort and the water.

Each resort offers an amazing beachfront vacation with a dazzling array of amenities and activities for guests. This includes Cairns being a departure terminal for Barrier Reef cruises and snorkeling expeditions. Guests can go sailing to tropical islands, enjoy skydiving, deep sea fishing and other adventures like a foray into the Daintree Rainforest, or simply enjoy barbeques and picnics.

Without any doubt the best part of the resort will be its collection of stunning swimming pools. Each resort has lagoon-like pools with beach sand leading into the water and waterfalls feeding it. Guests can enjoy the royal treatment, sipping cool martinis and munching on snacks served by resort staff poolside, or even from the swim-up bar in the pool.

The reef is of course a popular attraction to visit, but some of it can also be observed up close from the resort itself. That’s because each resort has aquariums with rare tropical fish & marine life from the reef, like the potato cod. These aquariums can be found in the resort hotel lobbies, in the corridors and in the restaurants. Speaking of resort restaurants, they’re always trying to outdo one another and get noticed for a special dish or cuisine.

Every resort has a handful of dining options ranging from buffet spreads and a la carte menus to cafes for a morning breakfast with coffee & tea, outdoor dining for romantic dinners, and a bevy of cuisines both international and Aussie. On top of this, the accommodation units have well furnished kitchens for guests who want or need to prepare their own meals or snacks. In addition to kitchens, accommodation amenities will usually include everything from sleeper sofas to private balconies and safe covered parking.

Pools, restaurants and barbeque grills aside, Cairns resorts also offer guests use of facilities like multiple outdoor spas and saunas, and fitness centers. Sports lovers will love that each resort has at least one tennis court with lights and offers access to a 18-hole championship golf course. As for water sports, there is no end to it and guests will love the adventure of everything from bumper tube rides to parasailing and kayaking.

As for location, there are many options, depending on what the visitor is looking for. Many of the Cairns resorts are bunched in close to the CBD, and offer shuttle buses for transporting guests to and fro from the city. Others are located closer to the Barrier Reef, on Fitzroy Island and guests will have to take a boat to or from the city.

The one thing that’s common across all the Cairns resorts regardless of location is that there’s always a holiday atmosphere. The town depends almost entirely on tourism and the staff have a very good idea of what helps guests enjoy their vacations. Some of it, such as the brilliant weather, is a natural gift. But resort staff dripping with charm and sporting colorful clothing helps guests quickly shift into holiday mode and stay that way during the entire stay.
