FAQ of Birmingham airfield

Parking at Birmingham airport

Birmingham World Airport is located at Bickenhill, 8 miles east of the center of Birmingham. The airport is an important base for many major airlines and handles over 9,000,000 passengers a year. Appropriate for the sixth busiest airfield in Britain, there is a good selection of car parks.

Birmingham Airfield is at the centre of the national network of motorways. Access to the airfield by vehicle is easy from junction 6 of the M42 highway which has connections to the M1, M5, M6 Toll, M6 and M40. Take the A45 main road ( Coventry Road ) from junction 6 to the airfield.

Several sorts of parking at Birmingham Airport are available. There are three types that cater for the different lengths of parking time near to the terminals.

For a brief stop, if you’re dropping off passengers, there’s the Drop and Go car park next to the terminals. The Long Stay vehicle park provides Fifteen mins of free vehicle parking for dropping off passengers who then need to use the courtesy bus or take the short walk to the terminal.

Holders of the disabled blue badge can claim up to 60 minutes of free car parking at the NCP purchaser services desk in the terminal building.

Secondly, for the longer time period required when picking up passengers, there are the multi-storey Short and Medium Stay auto parks close to the terminals. These auto parks are also acceptable for day trips and weekend breaks.

Finally, for long weekends and vacations, the Long Stay vehicle parks are acceptable. A regular courtesy bus then takes you to the terminals. Parking spaces in the Long Stay car parks can be scheduled in advance, saving up to 60 percent compared with paying on arrival.

Depending on the distance and fares concerned, it can be less expensive to pay to park your own vehicle than to employ a taxi to get to the airport. It’s definitely worth checking with the online automobile park booking agencies and comparing the expenses concerned.
